set within liverpool’s georgian quarter, back canning street is a sensitive renovation of a grade ii listed property located in one of the city’s most characterful conservation areas. the project carefully balances preservation and modernisation — respecting the historic fabric while introducing subtle interventions that enhance light, flow and contemporary living.
working within the building’s existing proportions, 16a reinterpreted traditional detailing through a modern lens, combining refined materials and understated finishes to bring new life to the interior. the result is a home that feels both timeless and quietly modern — a considered dialogue between heritage and the present day.
